Kalinaw News: 85 IP Families Benefit in a Gift-Giving in Nueva Ecija

Nueva Ecija – Combined efforts of Lila and Marley’s Toyzone, Central Luzon State University ROTC, 301st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, and the 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion led to the conduct of a gift-giving activity that benefited a total of 85 Indigenous People (IP) families of Sitio Bulak, Brgy Rio Chico, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija on December 11, 2021.

During the activity, the IP Community received food packs (2 kilos of Rice, 3 Canned goods, 3 noodles), slippers, assorted used clothes, personal hygiene kits, and school supplies, and stuffed toys for the IP students. The free haircut was also given to some of the beneficiaries.

Parents of the community were also enlightened on how Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) exploit and deceive Indigenous People through propaganda machinery and deception strategy in a short information drive facilitated by 1st lieutenant Arnold A Quinon, Civil-Military Operations Officer of 84IB.

In a short program, Ms Vicky Maningas, Owner of lila and Marley’s Toyzone said that, “Ang aming pagpunta sa inyong komunidad ay upang maipadama ang aming pagmamahal at pagkalinga sa inyo”. She added, “lubos din ang aming pasasalamt sa kasundaluhan sa walang humpay na suporta upang kami ay makarating ng ligtas sa inyong komunidad”.

On his part, Mr Michael Bote, Tribal Chieftain said that “Labis ang aming pasasalamat sa mga biyayang aming natanggap na ipinagkaloob ng ating mga kasundaluhan at ng lila and Marley’s Toyzone na isang malaking tulong lalo na sa panahon ng kagipitan”.

The Battalion Commander of 301RRIBn, Major Elena C Cruz also said that “Sana ang aming pagbibigay ng konting tulong ay makapag bigay ng kasiyahan sa inyong mga puso lalo na at nalalapit na ang kapaskohan”.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Gil C Ileto, Commanding Officer of the 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion expressed his utmost gratitude for the continuous trust and partnership of 301st RRIbn, CLSU-ROTC, and other private stakeholders for the conduct of humanitarian activities that benefit our IP communities.

“Ang inyong kasundaluhan ng 84IB ay palaging nakahanda upang makapag hatid ng tulong sa ating mga kapatid na katutubo lalo na sa panahon ng kahirapan”.
