The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will get an additional 200,000 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine for the full inoculation of its personnel, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said Monday night.

"Ngayon po ay bibigyan ang AFP ni (National Task Force against Covid-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar) Secretary (Carlito) Galvez ng 200,000 para tapos na po ‘yung pagbabakuna ng AFP kasama na ‘yung uniformed personnel, mga dependents, iyong CAFGU (Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit) at saka Special CAFGU Active Auxiliary (SCAA). So pag natapos po ‘yun ay kumpleto na ‘yung AFP at saka ‘yung mga tao nila (Secretary Galvez will be giving an additional 200,000 doses to the AFP so that they will be able to finish the vaccination of all their uniformed personnel, dependents, and their CAFGU and SCAA. Once this is finished, all AFP personnel will be fully vaccinated)," Lorenzana told President Rodrigo Duterte during his Talk to the People.

In the same briefing, Lorenzana said that only 77 percent of all AFP personnel are fully vaccinated to date.

Lorenzana also reported that the country's health care utilization rate (HCUR) is now only at 48 percent.

"Halos kalahati na lang po ang -- ang okupado sa mga hospitals natin. Mayroon tayong hospital beds na 40,000, ibig sabihin 20,000 lang ang naokupahan diyan (This means that about half of our hospitals are occupied. We have around 40,000 hospital beds, this means that only 20,000 of these are occupied right now)," he added.

Lorenzana also reported that around 4,420 intensive care unit (ICU) beds), 20,881 isolation units, 14,856 wards, and 3,243 mechanical ventilators are currently in use.
