IMPASUGONG, BUKIDNON – Troops of the 8th Infantry “Dependable” Battalion, Philippine Army have successfully prevented the planned atrocities of the Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs) after series of encounters last August 18, 2021, at the hinterlands of Brgy. Kalasungay, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Dependable troopers responded to reports of concerned citizens that CNTs were planning to burn heavy equipment used for the construction of farm to market roads in the area. CNTs were also conducting extortion activities threatening the local populace.

As a result, series of encounters have transpired which resulted in the seizure of assorted food and medical supplies, radios, charger, sim cards, external drive, cellphone battery, and a backpack with personal belongings.

Lieutenant Colonel Edgardo Talaroc Jr, Commander of 8IB said that, “Padayon ang pursuit operation sa kasundaluhan sa kabukiran aron mahuman na ang problema sa ensurhensya sa atong ginsakpan. Kami dakong nagapasalamat sa mga katawhan nga nagpakabana ug nagreport aron ma protektahan ang proyektong ginapatuman alang sa kalambuan sa Malaybalay City ug sa probinsya sa Bukidnon.” (We will continue our pursuit operations to finally end our insurgency problem. We are very thankful to the concerned citizens for they have protected their community as well as the projects being implemented solely for the peace and development of Malaybalay City and the whole province of Bukidnon.

“Ang padayun lang gihapon natong panawagan ngadto na sa mga myembro sa Teroristang NPA nga mobalik na sila sa sabakan sa gobyerno ug mouli na sila sa ilang pamilya. Sa ubang katawhan nga padayun pa nagasuporta sa mga terrorista, iundang na kana, tungod dili sila makahatag kaninyo og maayong kaugmaon,” Lieutenant Colonel Talaroc ended, (Our continued call to the members of the CNTs is for them to return to the folds of the law and return to their families. Also, to those who are still supporters of these terrorists, stop aiding them because they will not be able to give you a better future.
