MARAMAG, BUKIDNON – A certain Edwin Sugnot a.k.a Rustom, a high ranking NPA Commander, voluntarily surrendered to 88th Infantry Battalion after being wounded and separated from his former comrades as result of numerous encounters between Government forces and Communist NPA Terrorist in the hinterlands of Pantaron Mountain Ranges.

The continuous conduct of Intensified Military Operation (IMO) hit the CTGs armed component which eventually resulted to the group’s disintegration.

Edwin Sugnot, 25 years old, is a member of Tigwahanon tribe in San Fernando Bukidnon. He is the Vice Commander of Platoon 3 “Sentro De Grabidad” (SDG), of Guerrilla Front Malayag, Sub Regional Command 2 (SRC2), Northern Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) that operates in the area of San Fernando, Cabanglasan and portion of Malaybalay City in Bukidnon.

He decided to admit defeat and surrendered to the elements of Alpha Company of 88th Infantry Battalion stationed in San Fernando, Bukidnon.

Upon his surrender, he was straightaway assisted by the 88IB personnel who also sent him to the local hospital for immediate medical attention.
