Kalinaw News: Community Pantry operates in Pantukan in Partnership with LGU, NGO, RPSB, SAF and 48th Infantry Battalion

Posted to Kalinaw News (May 8, 2021): Community Pantry operates in Pantukan in Partnership with LGU, NGO, RPSB, SAF and 48th Infantry Battalion (By 10th Infantry Division)

Pantukan, Davao de Oro – A Community Pantry was conducted in partnership with 48th Infantry (Guardians) Battalion, Local Government Unit of Pantukan, Revitalized Police Sa Barangay (RPSB) of the Philippine National Police, 113rd Special Action Company (SAC) and Lucille Zumba Club at Purok Cebulida, Brgy Kingking, Pantukan, Davao de Oro on May 7, 2021.

As the newest form of Bayanihan concept, the community pantry conducted aims to help the community adjust and to be flexible in the changing society amidst Covid-19 pandemic. It also aims to create strong partnership and collaborative efforts between stakeholders by helping the underprivileged, isolated and disadvantaged.

650 individuals from Purok Cebulida benefited the activity and received different kinds of vegetables, root crops, canned goods, rice, dry goods, soap and condiments. Sangguniang Bayan Member Catherine Uy Pungay led the local government in the distribution together with 48th Infantry Battalion Acting Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Enrique G. Rafael, RPSB Officer Police Lieutenant Jeanette C. Pagulong, 113rd SAC PCR NCO Patrolman Marvin B. Siano and volunteers from Lucille Zumba Club.

Inter-Agency Task Force Protocols were observed during the duration of the activity by wearing of face masks and social distancing. Pantukan Mayor Roberto M. Yugo likewise conducted a quick visit during the community pantry.

“Malipayon kayu mi nga nakigduyog kanamo ang 48th Infantry Battalion uban ilang mga staff og mga opisyalis.Malipayon kaayo nga sila nakighiusa ug nakig-alayon sa mga panawagan sa pagtabang alang sa mga Katawhan.Mabuhay kayo 48th Infantry Battalion,”said Mr. Rudnee Ang, one of the volunteers. (Kami ay lubos na nagagalak na nakasama namin ang 48th Infantry Battalion kasama ang kanilang mga staff at opisyales. Masaya kami na naging kabahagi namin kayo sa panawagan at pagtulong para sa mamamayan. Mabuhay kayo 48IB.)

Lieutenant Colonel Rafael expressed his appreciation to the sponsors and benefactors behind the successful conduct of Pantukan Community Pantry. He likewise commended the cooperation of the beneficiaries by following the protocols set for COVID-19.
