77 former rebels receive benefits under E-CLIP

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, March 17 (PIA) - At least 77 former rebels who surrendered to the folds of law have received their benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government.

A total of P5.1 million - worth of benefits were handed to the 77 beneficiaries which include immediate cash and livelihood assistance, firearms remuneration, and reintegration program.

The Provincial Government of Isabela also extended one cavan of rice and health kits each to the former rebels who are under the custody of 95th and 86th Infantry Battalions of the 5th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army..

The handing of benefits was conducted on March 16, 2021 at San Mariano Isabela through the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

DILG -2 Director Jonathan Paul Leusen led the distribution of benefits to the former rebels and witnessed by officials from the Provincial Government of Isabela (PGI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), LGU officials of Benito Soliven and San Mariano towns respectively.

Leusen said said the benefits under the E-CLIP for the former rebels will be used to start a livelihood project for themselves and their families and lauded the FRs for surrendering, saying the benefits due to them under the E-CLIP would be given accordingly as a start up for their living.

Meanwhile, 5ID, PA Commander B/Gen. Laurence Mina has called on all CPP-NPA communist terrorist to surrender to get the same benefits under the E-CLIP and live a normal life. (BME/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
