From the Philippine Information Agency (Mar 18. 2021): 5ID honors 21 soldiers for exemplary anti-insurgency campaigns feat (By Merlito G. Edale, Jr.)
CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, March 15 (PIA) - At least 21 soldiers of the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army were honored by the Northern Luzon Command held last week.
Of the 21 awardees, six soldiers received Meritorious Achievement Medal, nine received Gawad Kaunlaran and six received Military Merit Award.
The awards were handed to the soldiers for the successful dismantling of Komiteng Larangan Guerrilla Quirino - Nueva Vizcaya in 2020 and resulted to the weakening of Communist Party of the Philippine - New Peoples Army (CPP-NPA) in Cagayan Valley.

He lauded the soldiers for showing sterling performance of duty in anti-insurgency campaigns and ensuring peace and stability in its area of operations.
Meanwhile, 5ID, PA Commander B/Gen. Laurence Mina thanked NOLCOM as he assured that the soldiers of 5ID, PA will continue to ensure peace and order and perform there sworn duty to defend its area of operations against invasion and any other forms of illegal activities. (BME/MGE - PIA-2/Isabela)
