BACOLOD CITY, Oct. 5 (PIA)--Three medical teams from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) recently arrived in this city to help in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), said 303rd Infantry Brigade (IB) Civil Military Officer Captain Kelvin Bayaban.The team were previously deployed in Cebu City to fulfill the same mission there.
Colonel Michael Samson, Deputy Brigade Commander of 303rd IB, received them at the Bacolod-Silay International Airport, where they were welcomed and given final instructions for deployment.
According to Bayaban, the three AFP medical teams that arrived were headed by Captain Romuel Rabara. They will take over the first two AFP Medical Teams headed by Captain Liza Dorao whose tour of duty in Bacolod ended this September.
They will beef up the frontline medical workers of the city and provide needed assistance to the health system capacity.
Two of the three medical teams will be deployed at Riverside Hospital and the other at the Queen of Mercy Hospital, all in located in this city.
Colonel Samson expressed his gratitude to the Commander of Central Command AFP for extending additional military doctors to support Bacolod City and the Province of Negros Occidental to boost the efforts of local medical personnel and for the AFP Medical team for heeding the call of duty.
