From Kalinaw News (Sep 7, 2020): DTI Distributed Livelihood Starter Kits to 39 Former Rebels in Bukidnon
MARAMAG, Bukidnon- Thirty-Nine (39) Former Rebels (FRs) received Livelihood Starter Kits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in collaboration with 88th Infantry “Maringal” Battalion, Phillippine Army held at Headquarters 88IB, Purok 10, South Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon on September 04, 2020.

This activity of the DTI was through the “Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa,” a livelihood and entrepreneurship program of the department. This is one of the government programs for FRs under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). Each FR received a Sari-Sari Store Starter Kit worth P8,000 of different goods. All in all, the DTI distributed a total of 39 Starter Kits to the FRs which is equivalent to P312,000.
Director Eriberto A. Taban-ud Jr, DTI Provincial Director of Bukidnon, said, “The department is very much honored to help the former rebels and be part of their new beginnings. As part of our department goals, we will do our best to offer and bring government services closer to them.”

Datu Dodo, uttered in his local dialect, “Dako kayo akong pasalamat sa gobyerno. Sa tinood lang gekan jud ko sa Partido sa CPP-NPA, wala man sila nahatag na inani sa akoa. Karon kay nagsurender ko, dako kayo ako ang pasalamat sa DTI ug 88IB na napakita ug napabati jud sa amoa nga ang tinood nga serbisyo. Dako kaayo ni nga tabang. Salamat kayo gikan sa akong kasingkasing. (I am very thankful to our government for providing us their services that we never experience from the CPP-NPA. Now that I surrendered, I am now receiving government services. I am thankful to DTI and 88IB for bringing us the genuine government services. My heartfelt gratitude for all of you.)

LTC Franklin F Fabic, Commanding Officer of 88IB, expressed his thanks to the DTI Provincial Director. “Thank you for being our partner in winning the peace and bringing the government closer to the people especially to our FRs who became victims of wrong ideology of the communist terrorists. Your assistance will greatly contribute on their new endeavors of rejoining the mainstream society.”
