PASIG CITY, Sept. 6 (PIA) -- The Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTF NCR) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines over the weekend provided assistance to the Quezon City Government during the distribution of financial aid for residents.
According to JTF NCR, volunteer Army Reservists of 1302CDC, NCRCDG led by Colonel Reynaldo Malapad (GSC) PA, Director, OPCON to GTG, JFT NCR provided assistance to the Quezon City local government in the distribution of financial assistance to over 6,000 household beneficiaries from Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon on Sept 4 and 5.
The Quezon City Government continuously provides assistance to individuals from the more vulnerable sectors and those whose livelihood were badly affected by the enforcement of community quarantine measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The cash aid distribution is part of an estimated P1.2 billion financial assistance to benefit a targeted 600,000 vulnerable residents of the city through the “Kalingang QC” program.
The program initially covered drivers of public utility jeeps, tricycles, pedicabs, taxis, Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS), and UV Express, market vendors, laborers, household workers, and other daily wage earners who were earlier affected by the enhanced community quarantine.
The city, however, decided to expand the coverage to include solo parents, lactating mothers, persons with disability (PWDs), senior citizens , scholars and sellers of dry goods and cellular phone accessories. (PIA-NCR)
