Monkayo, Davao de Oro- Alias Romy, 28 years old, a resident of Compostela, DDO and a member of NPA surrendered to 25th Infantry Battalion with one (1) M14 Rifle and one (1) magazine with fifty four (54) live ammunitions with the effort of 1LT DESMOND E CASTILLO, Company Commander of Delta Company yesterday, 12 August 2020.
It can be recalled that last 08 August 2020, Alyas Angel, the wife of Alias Romy, surrendered to this unit with the effort of 1LT EDDIE BOY JAYONA, Company Commander of Bravo Company. The consecutive surrender of the two NPA members shows that the CNTs already lack manpower and weakened for its reduced firepower.
“Recent surrenders of NPA members to this unit is mainly because of family matters. This depicts that these NPA members already prioritizes more their family, husband and wife rather than fighting for the wrong ideologies of the CPP-NPA-NDF. They made a very good decision to surrender.” said LTC ASNAWI P MUTI INF (GSC) PA, Battalion Commander of this unit.
These NPA members will undergo custodian debriefing, receive assistance and will be enrolled to Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) of the Local Government Unit of Davao de Oro.
