August 29, 2020, Jolo, Sulu – Following the twin bombings last August 24 at Jolo town, BGen Gonzales, Commander, Joint Task Force, Sulu ordered an intensified focused military operation against the Abu Sayyaf Group under Mundi Sawadjaan.
This morning at 9:45 AM, the 3rd & 5th Scout Ranger Battalions successfully encountered the fleeing Abu Sayyaf in Patikul, Sulu which resulted to the death of its two members and recovery of two high powered firearms. At this moment, BGen Gonzales directed all units under his Command to track downMundi Sawadjaan and his cohorts.

Patikul, Sulu, Hon Kabir Hayudini, for declaring the Abu Sayyaf PERSONA NON GRATA last August 27 which led to the successful armed encounter of our
