CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Gamu, Isabela- The 5th Infantry (STAR) Division, Philippine Army headed by Brigadier General Laurence E Mina PA participated in the launching of Anurturu Organic Farm Training Cum Production in Organic Agriculture Production NC-II held in Brgy Anurturu, Rizal, Cagayan on August 7, 2020. Following the activity was the signing of Pledge of Commitment by the key leaders of the member-agencies under the Poverty Reduction Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) of the National Task Force-to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
The activity was graced by Secretary Isidro S Lapeña, Ph.D., CSEE the Director General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba said that the provincial government will continuously accomodate the former rebels in their quest for genuine peace and prosperity.
BGen Mina in his message emphasized that this program of the government through the TESDA will significantly help in bringing alternative/additional source of income for the people of Anurturu especially those living in the Conflict Affected Areas (ConAAs) and Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAS). “This Whole of Nation and Government approach will truly contribute in ending the armed conflict and insurgency in our Region. The Startroopers will always be ready to extend our support even in the farthest part of our Area of Responsibility (AOR) for the people we serve.”
