Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao — The Candidate Soldier “MATINDIG” Class of 631-2020 took their oath of volunteerism and enthusiasm; to risk personal comfort and security; to serve and protect the country and people on July 30, 2020 at the 6th Division Training School in Brgy Semba, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
The 227 new soldiers are composed of 38 females and 189 males, started their training on March 1, 2020. Their class name was derived from the word “MATINDIG”, which stand for “Mandirigmang may Tikas Na Dignidad” that signifies their class resilient comradeship and compassion.
The graduates underwent rigorous trainings that engaged in different activities which includes Basic Military Training and War Fighting Competency training. Candidate Soldier Jodelio Amor B. Esteban received the leadership award for demonstrating an outstanding attitude, military knowledge and exemplary military bearing. He also receives the Physical Fitness Proficiency Award for obtaining the highest rating in the Physical Fitness Test with general average of 98 percent.
Candidate Soldier Noel N Catahom as Top Gun, received the special award for obtaining the highest rating in the Basic Marksmanship with a general average of 100 percent. “Tiwala ako na sa buong anim na buwan na training ninyo ay natutunan ninyo ang mga kaalamang kinakailangan ng ating organisasyon,” said MGEN DIOSDADO C CARREON, Joint Task Force Central Commander in his remarks.
