CAMP GERONA, Murcia, Negros Occidental – The 303rd Infantry Brigade recognized the bravery of the four (4) soldiers of the 94th Infantry Battalion who were wounded in the recent encounter against the Communist NPA terrorists in Brgy Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental last April 19, 2020.
Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander, pinned the Wounded Personnel Medal (WPM) to Corporal John Cris M Laus, Corporal Lismer Jade J Tumayao, Private First Class John Paul M Geonzon and Private First Class Alexis I Mepranum for their demonstration of exemplary actions during the encounter.
It can be recalled that the 94IB conducted community security patrols in Brgy Carabalan, Himamaylan City, in response to the series of reports of the presence of Communist NPA terrorists’ extortion from the beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of DSWD for COVID-19 affected families in the area.
“The medal symbolizes the bravery of our soldiers in facing our common enemy, the Communist NPA terrorists, and I salute each and everyone of them for their selfless service and dedication in serving the people and protecting the peace in Negros,” said Colonel Pasaporte.
