Magpet Cotabato – The 72nd Infantry (Gabay) Battalion together with 901st Brigade joined the Provincial Government of Cotabato in the launching of Regional Task Force to End Local Communists Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) Serbisyo Caravan at Brgy Don Panaca in the Municipality of Magpet on Thursday, December 12, 2019.

The Serbisyo Caravan is a continuation to the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) in the region that aims to deliver basic services and resolving primary issues to the residents in the community in accordance to the Executive Order 70 “the Whole of Nation Approach” in addressing the issues of different sectors from the grassroots communities. The caravan was a collaboration and partnership of different Line Agencies from the municipal, provincial, and regional levels in the region.

One of the highlights during the activity was the awarding of livelihood/monetary assistance given by Hon. Florenito Gonzaga, Municipal Mayor of Magpet, to a Former Rebel that surrendered to 72IB. The assistsnce manifests that the LGU of Magpet is sincere to its mandate in ending local communist armed conflict in the municipality.

“We are here together with all the government agencies to bring services to you. There is no reason to support and sympathize with CPP-NPA-NDF Terrorists, ” Governor Nancy Catamco said on her speech during the program.

In response, Lt Alvarado is inviting the Armed Group/NPAs to lay down their arms and make a new start with thier families. He further said that “Your Philippine Army is always ready to selflessly serve the people of Magpet. To the remaining members of the CPP-NPA, now is the best time to return to the folds of the law. Your government is always ready to accept you with your firearms wide open.“
