The Municipality of Motiong, Samar on October 8, 2019, officially created the Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF ELCAC), in accordance to EO 70 issued by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in December of 2018.
A joint meeting of the Municipal Peace and Order Council and the Municipal Development Council was held for the purpose of creating the MTF-ELCAC.
During the meeting, orientation lectures about the Executive Order 70 were provided by the team from Situational Awareness and Knowledge Management (SAKM) Cluster of RTF8-ELCAC headed by NICA-8.
Lt. Col. Reynaldo Balido Jr., the commanding officer of 87IB presented the RCSP operational framework and methodology, and reason for its conceptualization. He also mentioned that there is a need to create the MTF-ELCAC to facilitate the delivery of basic services and address the issues in the conflict-affected areas.
After the series of presentations and discussions, the Chair, Mayor Renato Cabael, spearheaded the creation of Motiong MTF-ELCAC which was supported by the members of the Joint MPOC-MDC. (PIA-8)
