CAMP SANG-AN, Pulacan ZDS – Forty-two Former Rebels (FR) and their dependents are ready to work and be productive citizen after they’ve graduated two TESDA courses, Friday, October 25, 2019, held in Dao, Zamboanga del Sur,

Thru the efforts of different government agencies and units, the FRs and their dependents were able to benefit the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) and finished the Automotive Servicing NC II and Electrical and Installation Maintenance NC II courses.

One of the FR, during his impression speech was emotional and thanked Gov. Victor J Yu, province of Zamboanga del Sur, 53rd Infantry Battalion, government agencies and even the President for the invaluable support and empowerment of the surrendered rebels.

“We farmers want to cross the bridge of poverty. And for that to happen, we need to study and educate ourselves to cross that bridge and achieve success”, he said.

Yu during his speech emphasize the efforts of the government for the FRs and their dependents. He is also glad and congratulated them for their endeavour.

“Every success of our constituents is also an achievement of our government because they can contribute to the progress and development”, Yu said.

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Bagnus P Gaerlan Jr., Assistant Division Commander of 1ID, challenged the graduate students to serve the country and become productive citizens.

“This course that you have taken will be your stepping stone to achieve your goals in life and to those who want to serve the country, you can join the Philippine Army”, he added.

Gaelan also urged the FRs to encourage other rebels to return to the folds of the law and follow their path.
