BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur-Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, BrgyMaharlika, Bislig City (Station) – The 75th Infantry “Marauder” Battalion, the Joint AFP-PNP Intelligence Committee (JAPIC) of Surigao del Sur and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development, SDS assists more than one (100) hundred Former Rebels (FRs) for the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) Enrolment held at this Headquarters, 75IB on August 29, 2019, Thursday.
The FRs came from Bunawan and Rosario in Agusan del Sur. Others were from Bislig City, Tagbina and Barobo, SDS. The 75IB spearheaded by Lieutenant Colonel Jaime R Datuin, JAPIC team and PSWD assisted the profiling and validation of the rebel returnees for them to be enrolled and avail the said program. Rebel returnees can avail cash and livelihood assistance from the government once validated along with the processing.
According to aka LOT, former CO of the Weakened Guerilla Front 3, South Mindanao Regional Committee (WGF3, SMRC), “Nagapasalamat ako sa gobyerno sa paghatag ug higayon nga maka pagbag-o ug kinabuhi. Sa akong mga kaubanan nga nagpabilin pa sa kalihukan nga musurender na sa gobyerno, kay ang atong tinuod nga gobyerno mutabang sa atohang pag bag-ong kinabuhi.” Alias LOT ended.
The E-CLIP is a program intended for the FRs who surrendered with their firearms to the government. They can avail the program from the government to support their living and this also aims to facilitate the mainstreaming of the FRs as productive citizens, as well as to enhance the capacities of the LGUs to help them reconstruct their identities as part of the community.
Moreover, Lieutenant Colonel Jaime R Datuin, the Commanding Officer of 75IB said to one of the FRs, “The government will help you along the way, as well as the Philippine Army. Thank you for the cooperation and your contribution to the peace and development of our community. And that, you have given yourself a chance to live peacefully and those everyone around you.” Datuin ended.
