114 troopers readiedfor anti-insurgency fight

From the Visayan Daily Star (Aug 30, 2019): 114 troopers readiedfor anti-insurgency fight

The 114 neophyte troopers of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7 being trained by the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division in the conduct of anti-insurgency operations, are now up for deployment in Negros Oriental.

The 114 RMFB 7 troopers completed a 45-day PNP Internal Security Operations training at Camp Macario Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz. Their graduation ceremony Wednesday was attended by Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, regional police director of Central Visayas, and Maj. Gen. Dinoh Dolina, 3ID commander.

Capt. Cenon Pancito III, 3ID Public Affairs Office chief, said the training forms part of the collaborative efforts of the Philippine Army and PNP in implementing internal security operations through expanded cross-trained training.

It is designed to train and equip PNP personnel with the right attitude, knowledge, skills, and capability on public safety in order to secure the people against criminality, violence, terrorism and threats of insurgency, Pancito said.

Maj. Gen. Dolina said that the expanded cross-training aims to make the trainees become the best guerilla fighters in the Visayas.

Three months ago, 317 RMFB 6 troopers in Western Visayas also completed a similar training.
