WESTMINCOM: Government forces conduct ‘Oplan Bakal Sita’ in Sibugay Province

Joint elements of the Bravo Company of the 44th Infantry Battalion under 1st Lieutenant Bryan Sonny Arlegui and PNP personnel of Siay Municipal Police Station, conducted mobile patrol and Oplan Bakal Sita at Barangay Camanga, Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay Province at 10:30 am Tuesday (May 7).

The operation resulted to the arrest of Roberto Palmiro Lajo, 43 years old, married, and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Camanga, Siay, for the violation of COMELEC Gun Ban and Republic Act 10591 (An Act Providing for a Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof).

Seized from Lajo were one Caliber .45 Colt, one Caliber Caspian, two magazines and nine ammunitions.

The arrested personality and recovered items are now in the custody of Siay MPS for filing of appropriate charges and proper disposition.

“Your AFP and PNP work together to stop lawlessness and violence as the election day is nearing,” WestMinCom Chief Lieutenant General Arnel Dela Vega said.

“We will be more vigilant and more steadfast in our joint law enforcement operations to prevent the lawless elements from disrupting the peaceful and orderly conduct of the 2019 Midterm elections,” added LtGen Dela Vega.
