Commitment Participants in the Philippine Navy values formation seminar aim to attain higher ethical standards in the performance of their duties.
In a bid to instill high standards of ethics and inculcate strong sense of accountability among its personnel, the Philippine Navy (PN) recently held a values formation seminar in Sangley Point, Cavite City.

The conference was initiated by the command’s Office of Ethical Standard and Public Accountability (OESPA), as it seeks to promote an aggressive commitment to ethical, honest and fair practices, be it in professional or personal life of every enlisted personnel.

The event was attended by the officers and enlisted personnel performing various functions in different PN units within Cavite and Manila areas.

It included the commanding and executive officers of navy vessels, senior enlisted personnel and students from surface warfare, commanders’ course of fleet training and doctrine center.

Among the subjects discussed during the conference was the relevant information and updates on ethical standards and public accountability related programs and policy development.

Cmdr. Norsal Dimaporo gave the welcome remarks during which he provided an overview of the role of OESPA in the prevention, monitoring, and disposition of sexual harassment incidents in the Navy.

The senior counselor of Ateneo de Manila, Joji Racelis, discussed the basic family values formation.

Heidi Sison, president of Character Building Formation Inc., shared her experiences and motivated the participants on character building and self-transformation.

OESPA chief Cmdr. Wilfredo A Burgonio Jr. who delivered the closing remarks exhorted all the participants to continuously pursue organizational development process, education and information dissemination of integrity programs.

He added the activity was timely and relevant for the realization of the command’s mandate to enhance professionalism and to promote honesty and integrity in the military service.
