From the Manila Bulletin (Feb 15, 2019): 7th Infantry Division has new commander
The Army’s Seventh Infantry (Kaugnay) Division (7th ID) has a new commander in Brig. Gen. Lenard T. Agustin who formally assumed the post in a Change of Command Ceremony held at the 7th ID Grandstand in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, on Thursday, February 14.

Agustin was the former Assistant Division Commander (ADC) of the Division during the stint of now Armed Forces of the Philippines-Eastern Mindanao Command (AFP-EastMinCom) Commander Lt. Gen. Felimon Santos Jr.
Agustin, who is now the 28th Kaugnay Commander, is a product of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sinagtala” Class of 1986. He has more than proven his mettle by successfully holding various positions of the different units of the AFP.
One of the positions that he held were Chief of Staff of the Second Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division (2nd ID) in Tanay, Rizal before becoming the Brigade Commander of the 201st Brigade, 2nd ID, Philippine Army. After his stint at the 2nd ID, he was finally assigned at the Kaugnay Division, on August 2017 where he was initially designated as the ADC.
During his speech, Agustin emphasized that all of the sectors of society should play their roles to counter the insurgency problem of the country.
Agustin also said that he will do his best effort to continue the good leadership Santos have shown as well as the accomplishments that the 7th ID have achieved during his time.
Agustin conveyed that while the mission should be the primary concern, the welfare of the troops should not be jeopardized.
Santos, meanwhile, extended his gratitude to all men and women of the 7th ID. He also specifically mentioned all the stakeholders who have been very supportive to the Kaugnay Division.
The turnover ceremony was highlighted with the distribution of red roses to all ladies who are present during the ceremony as a simple celebration of Valentine’s Day.
