From Philippine Update (Nov 27): PHOTOS: Japanese destroyer welcomed by Philippine Navy

The Philippine Navy on November 26 welcomed a Takanami-class destroyer of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), JS Ōnami (DD-111).

The Japanese warship is staying in Manila until November 28 for a goodwill visit and replenishment of supply after participating in the ASEAN International Fleet Review in Thailand.





Philippine Navy said BRP Rajah Humabon (PF11) rendered customary meeting procedures at Corregidor Island and escorted the vessels to its designated anchorage area.

The Navy added that its representatives accorded the visiting navy a welcome ceremony upon arrival followed by a port briefing related to health and security aboard JS Ōnami.
