CTTC aims to beef up Army troops' urban warfare capabilities

From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 29): CTTC aims to beef up Army troops' urban warfare capabilities

The planned "counter-terrorism training complex" (CTTC) aims to enhance the urban warfare capabilities of the Army's Special Operation Command personnel.

The CTTC, which has a budget of PHP55.6 million, will be constructed in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.

In an interview Wednesday, PA spokesperson Lt. Col. Ray Tiongson said the CTTC aims to replicate urban area conditions and thus improve the "military operation on urban terrain" (MOUT) or urban warfare.

"Yun planong gawin, para siyang magre-replicate ng (setting and conditions in) urban areas. Number one (benefit) dyan is ma-enhance natin yun capability sa MOUT and other operations na nasa urban setting like yung mga hostage rescue operations," he added.

Bid opening for the CTTC is slated for Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at the headquarters of the Special Operations Command, Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.

Interested bidders must also have completed a similar project similar to the one being bidded.
