At least 57 civil military operations office (CMO) personnel of the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division, Philippine Army underwent a 4-day training on radio broadcasting organized by the Division Public Affairs Office (DPAO) on May 10-14 at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine here.

DPAO chief Major Richard Enciso said the training gave the participants not only theoretical but also practical skills and tools in broadcasting.

During the training, Enciso said participants were taught the practical skills of broadcasting—including listening, recording, interviewing, on the spot anchoring and media ethics.

Lecturers who were recognized experts in the field of broadcasting were tapped as resource persons to share their knowledge and expertise on the topic.

Some of the participants are managing programs at the radio broadcasting facilities of the Philippine Army, while others are handling radio programs in private stations.

“Through the training, the participants will enhance their communication skills to effectively communicate the AFP programs and services to the public,” he added.

Participants underwent practical sessions at DXRM radio station in Ramon Magsaysay town where each participant made a 3-minute talk.

They also conducted field interview with some key stakeholders during the opening of Brigada Eskwela in the following schools, namely: Zamboanga del Sur National High School, Pagadian City Science High School, and Kawit Elementary School.

“Nalipay kami nga nakapailawom ning maong pagbansaybansay aron among mapalambo ang among kahibalo sa pagpangutana ug aron epektibo kami nga makapahibalo sa programa sa gobyerno ngadto sa mga katawhan (We are grateful for this training for us to develop interviewing skills and to make us effective in communicating the programs of government to the people),” Sgt. Rhey Floren of the 1st Field Artillery battalion, Army Artillery Regiment said.
