Government security forces have arrested another a suspected member of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) following a manhunt operation in a sub-urban village of Isabela City, Basilan late on Wednesday afternoon, the Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Director Roel Obusan, disclosed Friday.

Obusan identified the arrested ASG member as Asing Arola alias "Sahibal", who is wanted for kidnapping and seven counts of Serious Illegal Detention charges.

Arola was nabbed by joint elements of the Zamboanga City CIDG, Army Intelligence Security Service (AISS), Philippine Army, and PNP Special Action Force (SAF), who swooped in at around 5:02 p.m. at his safe house in Brgy. Binuangan.

Obusan said that Arola is under the band led by Commander Isnilon Hapilon, and was suspected to be involved in the Golden Harvest kidnapping case in Tairan, Lantawan, Basilan sometime in the year 2000.

Arola is listed as a National Level Most Wanted Person (MWP) with a reward of P600,000 offered by the national government for information leading to his arrest or capture.
