Outgoing AFP chief Visaya tells troops to remain true to their oath

From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 11): Outgoing AFP chief Visaya tells troops to remain true to their oath

With less than a month left before he retires from military service, outgoing Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief-of-staff Gen. Ricardo Visaya reminded officers and enlisted personnel of the Eastern Mindanao Command to remain true to its oath and maintain the nobility of the military profession.

In the same vein, he also urged troops to remain professional and live by their calling.
Visaya made the appeal as he visited Davao City-based EMC Friday noon.

He was received by EMC Lt. Gen. Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero and was given military honors.

Prior to his arrival, he visited 10th Infantry Division headquarters in Camp Gen Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, Compostela Valley.

During his meeting with officers and enlisted personnel there, Visaya counseled field commanders, officers and troopers reminding them to shun away from illegal drugs, narco-politicians and crime syndicate leaders.

The AFP chief is expected to step down on Dec. 8.
