NAVAL STATION APOLINARIO JALANDOON, Palawan (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines – Western Command (AFP WesCom) held an arrival ceremony on last November 3, at the Naval Station Apolinario Jalandoon (NSAJ) to honor of its officers who were recently arrived after srving their duties as security personnel in the Kalayaan Islands Group (KIG) in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
The KIG defenders are from Naval Forces Wester (NFW) and Marine Battalion Landing Team-12 (MBLT12) who manned the eight (8) detachment units in the Islands of Panata, Likas, Rizal Reef, Parola, Lawak, Kota, Panatag and Pag-asa Island.
The personnel were personally welcomed by AFP Wescom Commander Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph S Mercado, Naval Forces West Commander Commodore Danilo R Rodelas AFP and 3rd Marine Brigade Deputy Commander Col Nestor Herico, along with the WesCom Family.
They were replaced by a fresh batch of soldiers, three of whom were female marines, who will continue to guards the country’s territory in the West Philippine Sea and were already ferried to their respective posts by BRP Rizal (PS74)
