From the Philippine News Agency (Nov 25): 5th ID, Cordillera police ink 'JLD' calling for elimination of all forms of criminality
As the country's ongoing campaign against all forms of criminality gain momentum, the Isabela-based 5th Infantry Division and its police counterparts have signed a "Joint Letter Directive" (JLD) calling for the elimination of illegal narcotics, criminality and terrorism in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
The JLD was signed by unit commander Brig. Gen. Pau T. Atal, Police Regional Office Cordillera head Chief Supt. Elmo Francis Sarona, said 5th Infantry Division public affairs office chief Capt. Evelyn Audencial on Friday.
In signing the JLD, Atal said the military is mandated to support the Philippine National Police (PNP) in its fight against illegal drugs, terrorism and other forms of criminality as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte.
He added that 5th Infantry Division is committed to strengthen its relationship with the PNP to carry out these tasks.
