From the Philippine Information Agency (Aug 31): Phl Navy Dragon Boat Team wins in 2016 Ordos International Tournament
The Philippine Navy Dragon Boat Team bested other paddlers as they rowed their way to first place, in four categories in the recently held 2016 Ordos International Nadam Dragon Boat Tournament held in Inner Mongolia.
The Philippine team, composed of 22 active Navy members and two civilians, ultimately became the overall champions of the said event. The four categories they aced in included the 300-meter full race; the 500-meter full race; 500-meter mix race; and the 3,000-meter full race.
The team ranked second in the 300-meter mix race, and third in the 3,000-meter mix race.
Meanwhile, the Embassy hosted lunch in Beijing on August 27 to celebrate the team’s victory.
