Manila RTC sets hearing of urgent motion for release of 3 NDF consultants

From the Philippine News Agency (Aug 10): Manila RTC sets hearing of urgent motion for release of 3 NDF consultants

The Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) on Wednesday set the day of the hearing for the urgent motion for release on bail for the three consultants of the National Democratic Front (NDF).

The Manila RTC set the hearing on Thursday at 8:30 a.m.

Manila RTC Branch 32 Presiding Judge Thelma Bunyi-Medina will hear the motion of the spouses Benito and Wilma Tiamzon, and Adel Silva.

The three petitioners are among the members of the peace panel of the NDF who needed to participate in the conduct of the peace talks in Oslo, Norway this month.

They are facing multiple murder charges before the Manila RTC in connection with the discovery of an alleged “mass grave” in the province of Leyte in 2006.

The prosecution has continued with the presentation of evidence against the three and other accused where the witness was asked to examine the human skeletal remains dug up in the “mass grave”.

The Tiamzon couple were clad in color orange T-shirts while Silva wore yellow T-shirt when they attended the hearing.
