From the Philippine News Agency (Aug 10): Former Army spokesman is new OCS head

Former Philippine Army (PA) spokesperson Col. Noel Detoyato formally assumed command of the the Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Camp O'Donnel, Capas, Tarlac on Wednesday.

Detoyato assumed as the Commandant of OCS of the Training Command (TRADOC) replacing Col. William Gonzales who is projected to be assigned in Mindanao.

The former served as Army spokesperson from 2014-2015. After this, he was tapped to head the AFP public affairs office which he commanded until 2016.

"We will produce principled officers guided by the principles of war," Detoyato said.

Brig. Gen. Herminigildo Aquino, TRADOC commander, presided over the ceremony.

OCS is producing 75 percent of the officer requirements of the PA while the rest is from Philippine Military Academy.
