ISABELA, Basilan Province – Basilan Governor Jim Saliman called on the military to sustain their campaign against the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) operating in the province.
He said the campaign against the ASG, which started on July 3, must be sustained in order for the people to experienced peace and development.
Saliman also asked the police to continue their drive against drug users and pushers in the province as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Saliman added that the provincial government could not bring total peace and development to the province unless a total cooperation of local chief executives of the two cities and nine town can be achieved.
“Cooperation of the nine town mayors and two city mayors must be achieved, in order for the provincial government can bring peace and development to the entire province,” Saliman emphasized in his message for peace held at the Basilan State College, last Saturday morning.
