Zamboanga City -- President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to visit tomorrow,
July 21, this city and the nearby province
of Basilan
Maj. Filemon Tan Jr., Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom)
spokesperson, disclosed the President will meet with the key military officials
to get first hand information on the ongoing offensive against the Abu Sayyaf
Group (ASG) brigands in Basilan.
The offensive by the Westmincom troops continues against the
ASG headed by Isnilon Hapilon and Furuji Indama.
Intelligence report showed that nine bandits were killed
while 13 were wounded when the troops pounded them with artillery.
Tan said that President Duterte will also address the troops
as well as visit the wounded soldiers at Camp Navarro General
Hospital
