The Philippine Army's 903rd Infantry Brigade and its
stakeholders have successfully provided medical and dental services to 516
patients in Barcelona ,
Sorsogon province over the weekend.
Capt. Victor Dugaduga, 903rd Infantry Brigade public affairs
office chief, said they were aided by the ASA Philippines Foundation Inc. and Barcelona local
government unit, and the 31st Infantry Battalion.
The dental and medical mission took place last June 18.
Civic-military operations (CMOs) are part of Internal Peace
and Security Program "Bayanihan" strategy to deny insurgency from
gaining a foothold in the countryside, he said.
For his part, 903rd Infantry Brigade commander Col. Fernando
Trinidad said: “We will sustain peace and development effort through CMO
activities like these in order to help address the issues in the delivery of
basic services to the remote areas like Barangay Tigkiw of Gubat, San Antonio,
Sta Lourdes, San Ramon, Fabrica, Bugtong, and Bagacay all of Barcelona,
Sorsogon."
