BRP Ang Pangulo up for dry-docking

From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 17): BRP Ang Pangulo up for dry-docking

The Philippine Navy (PN) is setting aside the sum of PhP34,938,965 for the dry-docking and other related repairs of the BRP Ang Pangulo (AT-25) -- which is also known as the Presidential Yacht.

Winning bidders are required to provide the service within 90 days.

Dry-docking is Lot 1 of the ship's projected repair and maintenance.

Pre-bidding conference is scheduled at Feb. 23, 1 p.m. at the Office of the PN Bids and Awards Committee Bonifacio Naval Station, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

BRP Ang Pangulo was acquired by the Philippine government in 1959. The yacht was first used by President Carlos P. Garcia for entertaining.

It was built in Japan as part of that country’s war reparations to the Philippines.
