From the Philippine News Agency (Oct 23): 3 more former rebels get cash & livelihood assistance thru CLIP

Three former New People's Army (NPA) fighters formally received cash and livelihood assistance from the Provincial Government of Iloilo through the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) Friday.

The returnees identified only through their aliases as Revo, Lim and Carol each received Php15,000 worth of cash assistance and Php50,000 worth livelihood assistance, 3rd Infantry Division public affairs office chief Major Ray Tiongson said.

Expenditure of the money will be monitored regularly by the Department of Social Welfare and Development and other concerned agencies.

The ex-rebels formerly operated in the hinterlands of southern Iloilo province.

The 82nd Infantry Battalion under Lt. Col. Enriqueto Deocadez Jr. together with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office of Iloilo facilitated the profiling of the former rebels and the processing of pertinent documents for the livelihood assistance under the CLIP.
