From Ang Malaya (Sep 16): South Korea, Philippines in process of establishing strategic partnership
Philippines and South Korea is in the process of establishing a strategic partnership. The Department of National Defense (DND) said to promote more relevant and practical cooperation towards the goal of establishing a strategic partnership, the DND and South Korea Ministry of National Defense will explore the need for the establishment of an annual Defense Policy Consultation at the vice-ministerial level.
South Korean Defense chief, who was in the Philippines for an official visit, had a bilateral meeting with Secretary Gazmin September 14.
“Both defense leaders manifested their continued support to the further enhancement of its defense relations through the expansion of exchanges at the senior defense and military levels,” DND said.
During their meeting of, Minister Han committed the support of Korean defense industries in the
Modernization Program of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The two also discussed during the bilateral meeting were the regional security situation both in Northeast and Southeast Asia.
