From Ang Malaya (Aug 4): High speed military sealift command vessel USNS Millinocket arrives in La Union

United States Military Sealift Command joint high speed vessel USNS Millinocket (JHSV 3) arrived in San Fernando, La Union today, August 4, the US Marine Corps said. Task Force Forager, deployed in USNS Millinocket, will be in the Philippines until August 15 providing a medical and engineering assistance.

The said task force embarked aboard the USNS Millinocket is serving as the secondary platform for Pacific Partnership, led by an expeditionary command element from the Navy’s 30th Naval Construction Regiment (30 NCR). USNS Mercy is now en route to Subic Bay from Roxas City, Capiz also for Pacific Partnership 2015.

Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia Pacific Region.

While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership, missions have provided medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary service to more than 38,000 animals.
