Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog on Monday lauded the intelligence
community here for providing information that led to the arrest of the alleged
secretary-general of the New People’s Army (NPA) Panay Regional Committee.
In an interview Monday, Mabilog said that the arrest of Ma.
Concepcion Araneta Bocala, also known as “Concha/Meryl/Etang/Martha” morning of
last Saturday at her residence in Juntado Subdivision, Barangay Calumpang, Molo
district here was a manifestation that security and movement of intelligence
network in the city is “close and tight.”
The arrest of Bocala last August 1 was conducted by the
joint teams of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the
Philippines (AFP) .
Bocala was believed to be the CPP-NPA-NDF secretary general
of Komiteng Rehiyon Panay. A PHP7.8 million bounty was set for her capture.
A statement from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) stated
that Bocala has arrest warrant for murder charges issued by Regional Trial
Court 6, Branch 2 in Kalibo, Aklan.
