Government security forces are conducting pursuit operations
against suspected Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) bandits who beheaded one of their male
kidnapping victims at Barangay Lunggang, Maimbung, Sulu Tuesday night.
Brig. Gen. Alan Arrojado, Joint Task Group Sulu commander,
identified the victim as Rodolfo E. Buligao. He said that Buligao's headless
remains were discovered by residents at 9:45 p.m.
Based on a note recovered from the body, Buligao was
allegedly the chairman of Barangay Aliguay Island ,
Dapitan City , Zamboanga del Norte.
No other details were available regarding the case.
Initial investigations indicated that the victim was
beheaded after his family failed to pay the ransom demand
Arrojado said they will facilitate the transfer of Buligao's
remains to his family via a Navy vessel.
