Residents of Maluso town in Basilan have had to line up for water after an attack by the Abu Sayyaf  over the weekend damaged their water supply facility.
 
As of late Sunday, residents had to line up at a well to get their water, GMA News correspondent Peewee Bacuño reported.
 
The Maluso Water District said it is not sure when water supply will return to normal.
 
On Monday, a crisis committee from the provincial government was set to visit Maluso to assess the damage caused by the attack last Saturday.
 
More than 20 families have also had to stay in evacuation centers after the attack.
 
According to earlier reports, the Abu Sayyaf beheaded a member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographic Unit and wounded another during an attack in Barangay Mabolo in Maluso.
 
The attackers then encountered CAFGU and 14th Special Forces Company personnel at Mabolo patrol base at Upper Mahayhay and engaged then in a five-minute firefight. Two suspected Abu Sayyaf members were wounded in the encounter.
