The
Philippines Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade based in Negros Occidental will hold
thanksgiving rites on August 8 to mark its 28th founding anniversary.
This
year’s anniversary theme is “303rd Brigade: Kaagapay ng mga Negrense sa
Bayanihan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran.”
The
program, to be held at its headquarters in Camp Major Gerona in Barangay Minoyan , Murcia , will be highlighted by the
giving of awards and citations to its Bayanihan partners for their support in
their peace and development activities in the province.
The
guests of honor will be led by Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Maj. Gen.
Aurelio Baladad, commander of 3rd Infantry Division.
Col.
Jon Aying, commander of 303rd IB, said they will acknowledge the participation
of their partners in the implementation of the Internal Peace and Security Plan
“Bayanihan.”
The
IPSP Bayanihan advocates the “whole-of-nation” approach, or the involvement of all
stakeholders in addressing the internal security challenges in Negros
Occidental.
Marañon
himself was conferred the Bayanihan award by the Armed Forces of the Philippines for
his full support to the peace and development activities of the Philippine Army.
Other
activities during the day include the blessing of the 303rd IB covered court
and a wreath-laying rites at the Gerona
monument.
