THE MORO National Liberation Front (MNLF) has denied a Malaysian official’s accusation that its leader, Nur Misuari, is the mastermind behind the spate of kidnappings in Sabah.
On Wednesday, foreign media quoted Malaysian Home Minister datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as saying that Mr. Misuari, as part of efforts to raise funds and rearm his movement, has orchestrated the recent kidnappings in eastern Sabah.
MNLF spokesperson Emmanuel C. Fontanilla branded these allegations as “a stupendous lie... a blatant propaganda against the MNLF.”
He also said the Philippine government was tainting Misuari’s image.
