A multinational civic action will take place in Tacloban City and Palo, Leyte with the United States and Japanese Forces together with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) doing engineering works as well as medical and dental missions starting Monday.

The Pacific Partnership 2014 will see the kickoff of the construction of several infrastructures damaged by typhoon "Yolanda" (Haiyan) in two of the worst-hit local government units (LGUs) in Eastern Visayas.

These include the groundbreaking of a four-classroom and science building to be constructed at the San Fernando Central School and reconstruction of the outpatient building of the Tacloban City Hospital.

They will also break the ground for the construction of a two-classroom building at the Castilla Elementary School in Palo town.

Major Amado C. Gutierrez, spokesman of the Philippine Army's 8th Infantry Division (8ID) of the Philippine Army, said Friday that their engineering unit will be actively participating in the construction activities.

Their medical and dental action units will also join their counterparts in conducting civic action programs.
