The bilateral maritime exercise between the Philippine Navy and the United States Navy dubbed as Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT 2014) is scheduled to take place from June 26 until July 1 in different areas of Luzon.

Since its inception in 1995, CARAT 2014 will be the 20th edition of the annual bilateral maritime training which aims to strengthen PN/Philippine Marine Corps and USN/US Marine Corps combined capabilities in amphibious operations, special operations and surface warfare; to enhance information sharing; and to promote relationship and goodwill, Philippine Fleet spokesperson Lt. (JG) Rommel Rodriquez said.

CARAT 2014 activities will involve in-port Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE), individual training, at-sea events culminating in an amphibious operation and a joint concert between the US 7th Fleet Band and the Philippine Fleet Band at the Harbour Point Mall in Subic Bay Metropolitan Area, Zambales.
