From the Philippine News Agency (Apr 9): Still no traces on whereabouts of Chinese tourist, Filipino hotel staff abducted in Malaysia

The Western Mindanao Command on Wednesday announced that it is still to determine the whereabouts of the Chinese tourist and Filipino hotel staff abducted by suspected Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) brigands at a Sabah diving resort last Saturday.

Capt. Rowena Muyuela, Western Mindanao Command spokesperson, said that their sea, air and land patrols are still to uncover any evidence of the suspects and their victims.

Searches are still being held in the Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi areas.

"We are utilizing all the (available) air assets, ships and ground troops and up to now we are still to locate them," she added.
