The manpower requirements of the Army's 303 rd Infantry Brigade has been beefed up with 150 members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit, who graduated Wednesday from a 45-day basic military training at Camp Major Nelson Gerona in Brgy.
Col. Jon Aying, 303 rd Infantry Brigade commander, said yesterday that the 150 CAFGU personnel will be distributed to various detachments in the province.
The more people in detachments, the more operations will be conducted to protect the people, especially in the countryside, from lawless elements, Aying added.
The 303 rd Infantry Brigade supervises about 1,154 CAFGUs in Negros Occidental alone, aside from personnel of the 47 th and 62 nd Infantry Battalions, deployed in southern and northern Negros, respectively.
