Sajahatra Bangsamoro will soon adopt Online Rapid Enrollment (ORE) of its Philippine Health insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) beneficiaries. With the new system, health service providers like hospitals and clinics will have faster access to profile of the Moro people enrolled with PhilHealth through the Sajahatra Bangsamoro program.
PhilHealth for Mindanao conducted training on ORE System that will digitize the profile of the beneficiaries held at Pagana Kutawato, Cotabato City from November 05-06, 2013.
Participants of the training were the Information Technology (IT) personnel and focal persons from Sajahatra Bangsamoro and Office on the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP).
The information system will be installed in the Local Government Units to be linked with the Department of Health’s Watching Over Mothers and Babies (WOMB) and Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Sustaining Interventions in Poverty Alleviation and Governance (SIPAG) for social services intervention particularly on the technical and skills training, livelihood and employment assistance.
During the open forum, PhilHealth Chief Social Insurance Specialist and Segment Head Lourdes Irene N. Minoza, said, “It is easy to enroll with PhilHealth however, the real battle is during hospitalization.”
She encouraged the participants to be careful in encoding wherein correct entries must be entered and not to include special characters.
“There is no doubt that PhilHealth will be very flexible about it. We hope to come up with a policy that fits to the need of Bangsamoro people,” Minoza said.
She added, “Rest assured that all issues and concerns raised from this forum will be forwarded to the ITMD-PHIC Central Office.”
Provision of PhilHealth services is one of the components of Sajahatra Bangsamoro. Other components of the program includes scholarship and livelihood support.
Launched early this year, Sajahatra Bangsamoro is an initiative of the Philippine Government supported by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) that will provide assistance to college and technical education, economic support and health care services to target members of Moro communities.
PhilHealth provides medical assistance that covers medicine, laboratory and physician’s services to those enrolled in its program.
